Meet Our Main Players:
President
Doug Dixon has been in the
electrical contracting business since 1976. He is past Chairman of
the Examining Board of Electricians, past President and Co-Founder
of the Bluegrass Electrical Trade Association, past member of the
Kentucky Vocational School Advisory Board and current member of
the Chamber of Commerce’s Legislative Advisory Committee.
Under his leadership, Dixon Electric has grown into one of
the largest and most versatile electrical contracting firms in the
region.
Comptroller
Cabot Dixon is a first-in-his-class CPA with years
of experience in the construction industry. His financial savvy
has laid the foundation for Dixon Electric’s growth and success
over the past several years.
Cash Flow Manager
Rochelle
Davis has
managed cash flow for Dixon Electric since the early 80’s. Her
team handles billings and collections. During good times and bad,
she has kept the wind beneath our wings.
Office Manager
Stephanie Dixon has the very important position of
making sure the office runs smoothly and efficiently at Dixon
Electric. Her thorough understanding of office procedure,
accounting functions and job requirements make for quick
resolution to complex problems and invaluable input to new ideas.
Human
Resources Manager
A diversified benefits package and large employee base make Human
Resources a very crucial responsibility at Dixon Electric.
Kristina Kegley has been HR manager for
several years. Her broad understanding of how things work has been
a big plus for Dixon Electric employees.
Service
Department/Manpower Coordinator
Dixon Electric’s Service Department is one of the
largest and most versatile in the area. The manager of this
department is Robbie Shearer.
Robbie’s team handles emergencies and smaller projects.
He also coordinates and schedules all manpower assignments
for current projects.
Project Managers
Henry Creech began his career in the trade as a novice
electrician and worked his way up the position of project manager.
He is an expert on hospital systems and is frequently
consulted by engineers and architects alike as to what would be
most practical and cost effective.
He has a loyal following of customers who seldom solicit
proposals from anyone other than Henry.
Dave
Williams is one of the top project managers at Dixon
Electric. He has a
strong background in electrical estimating and is one of the best
“by the book” project managers in the business. He is
especially skillful at making a job run smoothly.
He has successfully completed such projects as WAL-MART,
Danville
; WAL-MART, Nicholasville; and a host of other projects while at
Dixon Electric. Dave
is a hard worker and an accomplished professional . . He is a
“first one in, last one out” kind of guy.
Mike
Marion gets
the call when a project is complex or technically challenging. He
has successfully managed numerous large scale, fast track,
design-on-the-fly installations. Coal preparation, food
processing, auto manufacturing and big box retail are types of
projects Mike deals with.
Lorne
Smith handles commercial and industrial projects for Dixon
Electric. He is the
youngest member of the Project Management Team.
His people skills, leadership ability and total commitment
make him a natural for the electrical trade.
Although a relative newcomer, Lorne has taken on and
successfully managed several major projects.
Lorne is in charge of
Dixon
’s Traffic Signal and highway lighting work.
Dix Brown is the systems people at Dixon Electric.
He heads a team that handles specialty work such as fire alarm,
security, nurse call, telephone, data wiring, etc.
Bob
Caswell is the resident master at Dixon Electric.
His fifty-plus years of experience in the trade have made
him the consummate authority on how to best do it.
Electrical projects of no less stature than
Rupp Arena
,
Kentucky
State Police Crime Lab, and The Vine Center in
Lexington
were built under his direct supervision.
Bob is recognized as one of the finest talents around.
Warehouse Manager
Susie Marion
is in charge of Dixon Electric’s 25,000 square
foot warehouse facility.
Material storage, retrieval and delivery are her main
responsibilities. Her
team also handles tool management and equipment scheduling. ‘On
time’ is a phrase Susie knows well.
Safety
Director
James Hall is the force behind Dixon Electric’s
safety program. He reports directly to Mr. Dixon on all matters
related to safety. A
tribute to his effectiveness is Dixon Electric’s low Experience
Modification Rating.
Training
Director
Bill Weigle is Dixon Electric’s training director.
Under his supervision, Dixon Electric operates an in-house
apprenticeship-training program that has been recognized by the
Kentucky Department of Labor as one of the most outstanding in the
state. Other programs
under his direction include: on-the-job training, skills upgrade
classes, pre-employment evaluation and new-hire orientation. Dixon
Electric has been awarded several federal training grants as a
result of Bill’s efforts.
Mechanic
Shop Manager
Keeping Dixon Electric’s sizeable fleet of vehicles in a
safe and dependable operating condition requires a staff of three
mechanics and a large, fully equipped shop. This heavy investment
in equipment, repair facilities and skilled mechanics calls for a
manager with skills not normally associated with the electrical
trade.
Russ Johns is our man for this job. He is a
retired IBM’er and a life-long farmer. Both careers provided a
great training ground for his position here at Dixon Electric.
